We are aware that every text has a communicative goal. Some of them inform, some entertain, some persuade, and some do all three! When a text is translated its language and cultural background change, and sometimes its goal, medium or recipients as well. Therefore some modifications may be in order: conversions (for example, miles into kilometres, etc), the omitting of references that new recipients would not know or understand, adding explanations or replacing culturally specific elements (proverbs, idioms, references, etc). If you think that such modifications are necessary in your text, please let us know when placing your order.
With larger projects, we offer free translation tests up to 100 words.
This is one of the most common types of translation where the contents, format and style of the source text are transmitted as accurately as possible. Editing and proofreading are included. We usually achieve a daily output of 1,500 words (6 standard pages or 10,800 symbols with spaces).
An abbreviated translation is usually about a third of the source text in length. In this type of translation, the composition and main ideas of the text are preserved, but repetitions, lists, examples, and the elements not relevant for the recipient are omitted. This is an ideal solution when you are in a hurry or only need the main contents of the text. Our daily output is about 2,000 words.
The length of a summary depends on whether the gist of an entire text or only a part of it is needed. This is an ideal solution if you just need to know whether the text deals with some specific issues. If this is the case, you can order either a full or an abbreviated translation. Our daily output is subject to the type of order.
Editing includes an assessment as to whether a text meets its communicative goal and involves making linguistic or stylistic changes to ensure that the text conforms to the norms and conventions (tone, syntax, vocabulary) of its type. We also edit translations, and in this case a comparison of the source and the target text is included. Our daily output is about 7,500 words.
Proofreading is the perfect solution after a text has been edited prior to publication. The aim of proofreading is to catch any spelling and punctuation errors and also to ensure consistent formatting. Our daily output is about 10,000 words.
